My daughter... a new milsestone!

Its more of a mile stone fro Mummy I guess, however I must share it with you...
Ella (Almond Eyes) has always had very little hair. As a hairdresser's daughter this has always bothered me. I just wanted to do pretty stuff with it! While all her younger friends were wearing pony tails & cute clips, I couldn't even keep a headband in her hair!!

10 month old Ella, a little fluff on top...

One year old Ella... a clip stayed in for the photo, then came out!

At 18 months we could get a hair-tie in (that lasted all of 5 minutes!)

At age 2 It was a mop!!

At 2.5 yrs we could get a couple of pony tails in... but again they fell out very quickly!

On her 3rd Birthday we managed a 1/2 up 1/2 down pony which only lasted for half of the party!

But now FINALLY...

At age 3 1/2, my beautiful Ella has hair long enough to put into BRAIDS! Little tiny braids, but braids none the less!! And they didn't fall out! She did however look like a scarecrow after she took them out later in the day!

I am one very happy mummy!!

Ava's Tea Party

I have been following Belle & Boo's Blog for a little while now. I first discovered her artwork at Lark. Her illustrations are stunning! I would love to start collecting some of her work....

Today I read Mandy's post about Ava's Tea Party. It was a heart warming story about a beautiful little girl who sadly passed away a couple of years ago.... Mandy has done a series of illustrations in memory of Ava, and Ava's Tea Party is the icing on the cake. It is simply breath taking.

Getting ready for bubba!! Part 1...

Well this is NOT the first purchase I have made for my baby, but in my opinion, my first bloggable purchase!!

It's a nappy bag!! It's a gorgeous nappy bag!!!! I bought it at Etsy from Sew Fun.... She makes the most divine bits & bobs with the most DIVINE fabric, and as a lot of you know I lurve cute fabric!!

I should never look at Etsy, I always end up buying something... but hey when clever women are making beautiful creations such as these, how can I not?

This is what Gumboots are for!!

We have had MAMMOTH rain here in the past 48hrs.... Today is a little dryer...

Yesterday however was the worst day. Many of the rivers in our town are flooded.

When I dropped Chestnut Cheeks off at school yesterday I was unprepared! The pathway into the school was flooded up higher than my ankle! Imagine a five year old walking through that! Mmm nice soggy shoes & socks all day! I carried him over the giant puddle to the safelty of his classroom, where they stayed all day...

I then went to the shops with Almond Eyes & purchased some much needed Raincoats & new gumboots! Glad I did, because that giant puddle I had to wade through at the beginning of the day turned into a lake by 3pm a lake that was about knee deep for me!!! Here is the fun the kids had as soon as they got out of the car after picking CC up....

I was very glad for purchasing my boots at the end of last winter! A good investment I'd say!!

Oh & the Drought is officially OVER!!!! Praise the LORD!!!!

Want one for my baby....

Isn't it just the nicest sling!! Been doing a fair bit of research for a sling for bub. I want one that doesn't hurt my back, but also one that will be comfy for baby aswell as nice & cool during the warmer months.
I think I have picked a winner with Baby Rock !

You know it's been a tiresome day with the kids when...

You end the day with a sore throat....

Been dealing with 2 brick walls today who DO NOT listen without me yelling at them.....

Please someone tell me they learn to respect me SOON!

The duty of the Maid of Honour...

It is my duty to plan & prepare the BEST Hen's Day ever for my best friend of 25 years on the 8th August....

Here is what she wants....

A high Tea AND a day spa...... PFFFT!! I have been researching... High Tea's $20-$40 each. Thats not too bad... Day Spa's however range from $100- $300 each.... GAH... Not a chance!

Now here's the thing, I had idea of hosting a garden party style thing & I asked my good friend who is a beautician if she would offer a few beauty services at a reasonable price... She said yes & would do either a mini facial, manicure or pedicure for $30 each!! SO CHEAP...
Good idea yeah!!
Here is my dilemma... one of the other bridesmaids doesn't like my idea....

What do I do?!!!!! Please give me some ideas!

I have been dying to share some of my purchases from the stitches & craft show with you but was waiting for a chance to get some reasonable shots first...

Whenever I find gorgeous fabric I cant resist & have to buy some. I have mountains of lovely desings that I havn't gotten around to using yet, but will one day I am sure....

Here are some of the ones I bought last week at the show... yes, I spent a fortune! But well worth it in my opinion :)

I am planning on making a quilt for Almond Eyes one of these days, and a little rug for Itty Bitty... Some of these will be cute for these two projects.

The rest... well maybe I will just have to keep them for something else! Hehe
