I know they can't help it...

But I am CRANKY!! I have been since I woke up this morning, let me tell you why!

Last week it was school holidays, so I had the kids everyday. Ok that's good, thats what school holidays are for.
This week school & kindy are back on. YAY 2 child free days for me... I love my childfree days. I HANG out for them...

Wednesday arfternoon comes around & both the kids were getting snuffly. Hoot.

Thursday morning (child free day #1) boogers everywhere, no school or kindy... I had a hair appointment booked, the kids came with me :(
Friday morning (child free day #2), slight improvement on the booger situation but Swift Jim thought they needed to stay home again (he was probably right).... My plans for today were big. Since the kids stayed home yesterday, today I needed to do the groceries, head to Spotlight so I can make a bug costume for CC, as well as help man the local art show (i had put my name down a while ago)... So my mum watched the kids while I manned the art show, but couldn't stay so I could do the other erronds.

I am cranky!! Not only did I not get any time to myself this week, we will starve for the weekend since tomorrow the shops are closed due to Anzac Day. And CC's costume will probably not get made.... A bug party with no bug costume. Sad!

McQueen or Maccas?

I found CC's Lightening McQueen car looking like this....

When I asked him why?
His reply...
"So he know's how to get to McDonald's!!"

Riiiight!

Five. FIVE!!

My little big kid is FIVE!! When did that happen? (Well it happened on Monday, but I am referring to when he transformed from a tiny little baby into a five year old! )
Here he is dressed as Sportacus... his hero! He was quite chuffed with this particular gift. He has worn it often & I even took Sportacus to the grocery shops this morning....
Here is his cake!
Five! I am still in shock....

Two Toilet rolls!!

That is how many toilet rolls were left this morning. Enough for a couple of days....

That is until Almond Eyes decided to flush both of them down the toilet. BOTH of them...

Thanks love *rollseyes*

School Sports...

So many mile stones for young Chestnut Cheeks this year. The start of school brings with it lots of "firsts". First school photo, first show & tell, first uniform.... and first school sports competition!!
Today was cross country! The preppies had to run around 2 ovals. A total of 500m (i think). Thats a long way for a [not quite] 5 year old to run!
He has been very excited about the race leading up to it. He even wanted to wear his "fast running joggers". I'm not sure how they are any different to his normal school shoes, but anyhow....
So the race arrived. He was lined up with the rest of the boys from prep & the whistle blew. He was doing great as he ran past me as I cheered him on...
Then he headed up the hill towards the little oval... thats when he started getting tired. You see Chestnut Cheeks inherited many of my genes, MANY of them. One of which is the *bad at sports* one. So at the top of the hill he started slowing down to a walk. Thats ok, I could relate quite well to how he must have been feeling. A few of the older grade 6 & 7 boys were running beside him for encouragement (this made me a bit teary, what nice boys). Then at about 1/2 way round the top oval he looked like he was ready to give up. So fighting back tears I ran over to him & held his hand & we ran together.
Now imagine this..... A largely overweight woman, who is also 18w pregnant running in a prep race!! LOL I was wearing thongs (flip flops), and jeans that are too big so they kept falling down. Quite literally!!
CC seemed pretty happy that I joined him & of course Almond Eyes tagged behind too.
We got to the end of the race, both of us relieved that it was finished :) (500m is a long way for Mummy to run too)...
I was very proud of him.....
But I gotta tell ya, so many aweful memories from school sports carnivals came flooding back to me today as I watched my little boy..... I hope he has a more pleasant experience with sports than I did!

Baby Brain going nuts!

I wonder if it's because it's my third baby? I am so unreliable at the moment.

This afternoon I had a parent teacher interview booked for 3pm with CC's teacher. Right at pick up time so I wouldn't forget about it.

I forgot about it!
Well, almost entirely, however when I was about 500m past the school on our way home I remebered!! I quickly chucked a U-y & made it back to the class room, only 10mins late! Phew....

Hopeless! At least I wasn't late LATE this time..... *sigh*
Bring on school holidays!!
